35-Show John Denver Christmas Tour Travels from Maine to Hawaiʻi, Closing with Five Island Performances

Rocky Mountain High Experience^®: A John Denver Christmas, starring acclaimed John Denver tribute artist Rick Schuler, brings its first Hawaiʻi tour to Hilo, Honolulu, Kailua-Kona, Līhuʻe and Makawao from Dec. 26 through Dec. 30. The five island performances are the grand finale of a holiday journey that crosses the country with music generations have made part of their own Christmas traditions.

For audiences in Hawaiʻi, it is a chance to celebrate the season with songs that feel both familiar and wide open: “Rocky Mountain High,” “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” “Sunshine On My Shoulders,” “Annie’s Song,” “Leaving on a Jet Plane” and “Thank God I’m a Country Boy.”

The holiday program also includes music from John Denver’s beloved Christmas recordings and television specials, including “Aspenglow,” “Away in a Manger,” “Silent Night,” “Joy to the World,” “Silver Bells,” “Let It Snow” and more.

Rather than an impersonation, Schuler’s performance is built around the warmth, storytelling and musical spirit that made Denver’s work endure. For nearly four decades, Schuler has performed Denver’s music for audiences nationwide, creating an experience designed to bring longtime fans back to the era while introducing the songs to new listeners.

The tour closes with a uniquely Hawaiʻi holiday setting: John Denver’s mountain-and-meadow music meeting island communities, warm December days and the spirit of the Christmas season.
